Assoc Prof Craig Phillips

Associate Professor Craig Phillips is a senior research fellow at Macquarie University Medical School, Faculty of Medicine and Human Health Sciences and a Research Leader at the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research, University of Sydney. He is also a Chief Investigator on the NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence to Optimise Sleep in Brain Ageing and Neurodegeneration (CogSleep). His research is focused on cardiovascular and metabolic consequences of sleep and circadian disturbances primarily in obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) and on understanding how sleep disturbance can contribute to dementia. Other work is assessing novel lighting interventions to improve sleep and cognition in elderly people who report poor sleep. He also has expertise in sleep clinical trials involving interventions for OSA.

Associate Professor Phillips is a co-leader of the Health Care program at ASAC and a project lead with the International Collaboration of Sleep Apnoea Cardiovascular Trialists (INCOSACT).
